The photo of the swiss artist Herbert Matters show a furniture study Charles & Ray Eames with the soc alled „shock mounts”. These was the name of the rubber disks, which the Eames used to put the seat on the base.
Between 1943 and 1946 Herbert Matter worked as photographer and graphic designer in the Eames studio, later he get famous as the design of all the Knoll International advertising.
