Eileen Gray, born in 1878, is considered a pioneer of the modern age. She was born in Ireland but also spent a large part of her life in France. Her work is attributed to Art Deco as well as modernity. This is due to the fact that she initially created classic furniture and oriental art, but in the 20’s went on to design some of the most important pieces of modern functionalism. Incidentally, in contrast to many other designers, Gray worked alone - most of her designs were only produced on a small scale and were often sold by her to the customers directly. The House E.1027, a total work of art, designed by Gray, became famous and contained some of her most significant designs.

The Blue Marine carpet was a design from the 20’s and was also used by Gray in her House E.1027 in southern France. All carpets are manufactured as protected works of the applied arts by ClassiCon under the license of Aram Designs Limited. Other models available on request.

Construction: 100% pure wool, hand-made with a density of 80 knots per square/inch
