In 1925, the famous exhibition "Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Moderne" took place in Paris. In a part of the city along the Seine river, designs from French designers like Ruhlmann and Brandt as well as from the international Avantgarde, from Hoffmannto to Melnikov, were introduced. On the outer fringe of the Art Deco exhibition, the pavilion “Esprit Nouveau” could be found. This pavilion consciously displayed industrially produced works, for example, the Bendwood Chairs by Thonet. The design theorists also presented this new interpretation of the classic globe, which was unlike today’s re-edition made of brass. The globe was reconstructed by Alfred Ruegg for the Anthology Quartet.
