The Hungarian Marcel Breuer belongs to the most important designers of the Bauhaus movement. Starting in 1925, he directed the Bauhaus workshop and began his experiments with tubular steel. What resulted was, in addition to the famous B3 lounge chair (Wassily), the Laccio side tables. After the end of the Bauhaus, Breuer emigrated via Switzerland to the UK and finally to the U.S., where he became an important architect. Interest in his early tubular steel designs, however, slackened. The furniture wasn’t produced again until the 60’s, this time by the cult-company Gavina. Since the absorption of Gavina into Knoll, the side tables are being manufactured again. Every table bears the Marcel-Breuer logotype on the frame and has an individual production number.
The tables can be ordered individually or as a set; the laminated tabletops are black, red or white.
