The Finn Alvar Aalto greatly influenced Scandinavian design and was a forerunner of the organic forms that were polar opposite to the Bauhaus designs. In addition to his work with plywood for Artek, his glass work for the Iittala-Karhula Glass Works, which was introduced for the first time in the world exhibition in Paris, caused a stir internationally. The Aalto-Flower is based on a design by Vase Savoy, one of the most successful works by Alvar Aalto. The four-part ensemble is certainly an extraordinary glass work.
