Jean Prouvé’s furniture designs were created in the time from 1924 to 1956 and were, in terms of their functionality, made to fit the needs of the time – simple, durable and affordable. At that time, the furniture was produced in limited quantities in his own workshop (Studio Jean Prouve) and distributed by the Parisian Steph Simon Gallery. As opposed to the Bauhaus designers, who experimented a great deal with steel pipe, Prouvé worked with unformed sheet steel. The Cité armchair is a design from 1930 and was designed by Prouve for a competition, in which a student dormitory in Nancy was to be furnished. Prouvé used the armchair in his own house as well (together with the Guéridon Pas side table). Available in five color combinations (leather variations on request).

Construction: Frame sheet steel, seat and back surfaces made of one piece of fabric, leather belt arm rests, head cushion included
