by W. H. Gispen
In the 20’s and 30’s, the Gispen company was a very successful Dutch furniture manufacturer. Influenced by the German Bauhaus movement, the proprietor W.H. Gispen designed numerous steel pipe furniture, which made him one of the founding fathers of Dutch functionalism. For him the chair quite simply had the function of sitting. For this reason, he consistently designed his pieces to be comfortable. Furthermore, he set a high value on solid construction – in the Netherlands today, over 40% of the Gispen chairs produced in the 30’s are still in use.Construction: Frame high-glossed chrome, arm rests Bakelite black, cushion cover standard Tonus 3 by Kvadrat (other models, for example, in leather on request)Measurements: 83 x 82 x 59 cm, seat height: 42 cm Delivery: Within Germany free-of-charge, approx. 2 weeks.
