As opposed to the upholstered Barcelona stools, here the seat is made of robust leather fastened on the underside of the stool. Mies van der Rohe initially designed this variation in 1948, and it was his first piece for Knoll International. Originally the frame was supposed to be altered as well; however, most likely out of technical issues with the production, the normal scissor-like stool frame prevailed. At Markanto, the Barcelona stool is available in the flat version with brown leather. To request other variations, just send us an email.
