The Finn Alvar Aalto is considered a pioneer of plywood-working. Influenced by the German Bauhaus movement, he experimented with this material from 1927 on and together with his wife Aino Aalto created countless design classics. A few of the most significant of these are available in the Markanto store. Along with the Paimio Clinic, the Finnish pavilion at the World Fair in New York, the library in Viipuri (in Russia today) is considered one of his most important architectural pieces.
