In the early 40’s, Jens Risom designed the first furniture collection for Knoll International. The collection originally consisted of various chairs and armchairs manufactured with strap-meshwork seats. With this collection, German Hans Knoll’s young company attracted a great deal of attention in the U.S. In Germany the chair was produced by Walter Knoll under the name “Vostra” during the 40’s and 50’s (Hans Knoll originally came from this furniture dynasty.) However, over time Hans Knoll’s own company with its base in New York became more and more successful and helped shape the furniture design of the 50’s. Hans Knoll's wife, Florence Knoll, continued his work after he died in a car accident in 1955. Construction: maple, with upholstery in three colors (red, cream and black) Measurements: 51 x 71 cm, seat height 41 cm Delivery: Within Germany free-of-charge, approx. 3 weeks |
