Nakashima’s early designs have some Japanese influence as you may notice in the case of this table (Nakashima was American with Japanese heritage). After his work for Knoll International, Nakashima designed a collection for Widdikomb and later he was only creating furniture in his own workshop. Today his work is being continued by his daughter, Mira Nakashima. The classical Straight chair is a design from 1948.

Construction: American walnut and hickory, with Knoll Logo and Nakashima signature on underside.
